The 2010 Trading Trail is NOW CLOSED!

So the Trading Trail 2010 has now ended.

I didn't get to repeat the spectacular performance of 2009 (x2) and instead I merely stayed in the game in 2010, as you can see in the picture. I think that the lacklustre performance had more to do with my implementation of the Position Trading strategy in full public view than with the strategy itself. I made a number of mistakes for a number of reasons, but in the final reckoning those mistakes cost me only £565 this year -- which some may regard as getting off lightly in the dangerous world of spread betting.

My public portfolio has staged a convincing recovery (up more than 75%) since its low point in July 2010, so if you've enjoyed this warts 'n' all trading blog you will be pleased to hear that the story continues over at http://onpositiontrading.blogspot.com.

If you missed out on seeing how I run the Position Trading strategy in good times and bad this year (2010), you can read all about it in the book.

Well done Tony in running a fantastic blog which I have followed avidly all year. I have learnt a lot and have enjoyed reading all of your blog, and the books, Thank you so much.
By the way you did finally lose out to my conventional stockbroking account. I am up just about £850 on the year, however the percentage amount is almost exactly equal to gain in the FTSE 100 index, so my "fundamentalist" efforts have added zero value!!
